I started music classes in the 1st grade. From then on, I knew music was going to be my life!

My parents - they’re my biggest supporters!

Biography
Abigail M. Ryan is a current Ph.D. student in musicology at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Originally from New York, Abby graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2021 from the Crane School of Music with her Bachelor of Music in vocal/choral music education, with additional certificates in vocal performance and music in special education. In 2023, she graduated with her Master of Music degree from CCM in musicology. At CCM, Abby serves as a graduate assistant, spending time in both the undergraduate and graduate classrooms, and has served as journal editor of the Music Research Forum. She has also completed her term as the President of the Music Theory Musicology Society this past year, having successfully planned their ninth biennial graduate student research conference which occurred in March. While in her master’s degree program, Abigail presented her research seven times, both at national and international levels. She has also published some of her work through the Society for Music Research, and has completed an internship in conference planning and management with the College Music Society. When not at CCM, Abby enjoys teaching voice, piano, and general music lessons to her students of all ages at the Cincinnati School of Music, and searching Cincinnati for the best chai latte!
